For organizersCoworking and member communities

They’ve shared a kitchen for a year. Introduce them.

Community is what members say they joined for, and it’s the hardest thing to deliver. Flare gives your monthly social real introductions between people who work thirty feet apart, and you can repeat the same format every month in one tap.

A social of up to 50 costs $79.99, once, or up to 15 for $29.99. Templates are free to reuse.

Headphones on, doors closed

Members can be neighbors for a year and never learn what the other one does.

The same ten people come

Socials become a catch-up for the regulars, and new members bounce off the circle.

Introductions all run through you

You know who should meet whom. There’s one of you and three hundred of them.

Everyone at their own desk, headphones on.

Members scan in at the monthly social.

Flare matches who needs what with who does it.

Neighbors meet, finally.

Questions you could use tonight.

Flare only knows what you ask. Here’s a starting template for this kind of event, and why each question is there. Copy it, then change whatever doesn’t sound like your crowd.

What your guests see when they scan in. Illustrated with this template.
  1. What could you use a hand with right now?

    Needs and offeringsHigh importanceMultiple choice

The classic community manager introduction, done for the whole room.

  2. What do you do that other members might need?

    Ask onlyMultiple choice

The same choices, so members can be matched in both directions.

  3. Outside of work, you’d rather talk about…

    Shared answersNormal importanceMultiple choice

Members who aren’t looking for business still get a good conversation.

Save this once. “Run this event again” brings back your questions and venue next month, and proposes the next date.

How to build this in the appHow to write good questions

How the night runs.

You start the event from your own iPhone and put the code where guests can see it. Everything after that happens on their phones.

  1. 17:30

The monthly social starts. The code is on the lounge TV.

  2. 17:45

A quick word from you: new this month, the light will find someone. Flares on.

  3. 17:50

Introductions start. The regulars stop holding the kitchen island.

  4. 18:05

A 15 minute rest, then the next round for anyone staying.

  5. 19:00

End the event. Totals go in your member update, and next month’s event is one tap away.

Is it right for your event?

It tends to suit

  • Coworking spaces, member clubs and studios
  • Communities that run a regular social
  • Community managers who are the only matchmaker in the building

It’s probably not for

  • Spaces where most members are on Android
  • Tiny communities where everybody knows everybody
  • Events that need member profiles or a directory: Flare has neither

Pay once, for this event.

A social of up to 50 costs $79.99, once, or up to 15 for $29.99. Templates are free to reuse.

No subscription and no per-match fee. Guests never pay.

What organizers ask.

All questions

Is there a monthly plan?
No. You pay once per event and there’s no subscription. Your saved template stays free, and “Run this event again” sets up next month’s event, which has its own payment.
Can members get matched with the same person again?
Not at the same event. Each phone also remembers who it has already met and asks Flare not to repeat them at later events, so a small regular group will run out of new introductions over time.
Can I see which members connected?
No. You see totals, such as how many joined and how many introductions led to a meeting. It’s a big part of why members will trust it.

Try it with ten people, for free.

A rehearsal is a real event. Round up some friends, run it once, and see how it feels before you put it in front of a room.
