Choose your event size

You pay once for the whole event, based on the most people who could join it. Here’s how places are counted, so you can buy the right size the first time.

How places are counted

  • One phone is one place, across the whole event, whether or not it’s still in the room.
  • Rejoining is free. Someone who leaves and scans back in on the same phone doesn’t use another place.
  • Leaving doesn’t free a place. If 50 phones have joined a 50-person event and ten go home, the eleventh new arrival still sees “This event is full”.
  • Your own phone only counts if you join as a guest. Hosting doesn’t use a place.

How to pick

Take your expected headcount, including walk-ins and anyone who’ll come and go through the night, and choose the next size up. Paid sizes can’t be changed after you buy, so if you’re at 48 with room for walk-ins, choose 100.

The price covers unlimited matching rounds, your questions and templates, the check-in code, live controls and results. Those are the same at every size.

If you’re new to this

We recommend a small rehearsal first, then an event of 50 to 100 before you fill a bigger room. 250 is the current limit for one event.

When small rooms struggle

Flare only introduces people who fit, so a bigger room gives everyone more chances. A dating event has fewer possible pairs than a friends event of the same size, because preferences must work in both directions. In a small room, tell guests up front that some may not get an introduction.

Refunds

Purchases go through Apple, so refund requests go to Apple as well. If a purchase is refunded, the event’s paid capacity is removed, and a live event can be paused. TestFlight purchases are free during beta testing and don’t carry over to the App Store version.
